Monday 9-14-09 Speed/Velocity definitions and Problems

Example for problems you need to do today:

2. Solve for Distance
Find the distance a car traveled if it drove for 10 s and was traveling at a speed of 20 m/s.

    instantaneous speed- speed at any instant
    equation v=d/t
    acceleration- rate at which an objects velocity changes with time the change in velocity may be in magnitude (speed) or direction in both

    Formula- V=d/t

    Instantaneous speed-Speed that you were going at a certain time.
    Formula-V=a*t

    Acceleration-a change in velocity or speed. There are three kinds: speeding up, slowing down, and turning.
    Formula-A=D/T

    *Instantaneous velocity is how fast an object is moving at a specific time. Formula : v=a*t
    *Acceleration is any change in speed or velocity. Formula: a=d/t
